Tax advice that protects what you have built

Good tax advice keeps more of your money working for you, legitimately and with confidence. As chartered accountants and tax advisors in Mullingar, Longford, Trim and Athlone, we help businesses, families and individuals understand their tax position, plan ahead and deal with Revenue when it matters.

Tax in Ireland rarely stands still. Rates, thresholds and reliefs change from year to year, and the gap between a well-planned decision and a rushed one is measured in tens of thousands of euro. Our job is to make sure the tax consequences of a decision are understood before it is made, not discovered afterwards.

How we work with you

We start with where you are: your business, your assets, your family circumstances and your goals. From there we build advice around your situation rather than a generic checklist. We explain the options in plain language, set out the numbers clearly, and let you decide with the full picture in front of you.

Because we also handle the day-to-day compliance taxation, income tax and corporation tax work, your planning and your filing stay joined up. There is no gap between the adviser who recommends a structure and the team who has to make it stand up to Revenue scrutiny.

Our taxation services

A few things worth knowing

Ireland’s headline rates are well known: a 12.5% trading rate of corporation tax, 33% on capital gains, 33% on gifts and inheritances over the relevant CAT threshold, and a 23% standard rate of VAT. The detail is where the planning lives: thresholds, bands, credits and deadlines change regularly, and many reliefs come with strict conditions and timing rules. We keep on top of the current position and confirm the figures that apply to your year before you act.

Local advisers, national reach

Whether you run a manufacturing business in Athlone, a farm in Longford, a professional practice in Trim or a growing company in Mullingar, you get experienced advisers who understand the local market and the wider Irish tax system. Our partners and senior staff are directly involved in advisory work, so you deal with people who know your file.

If you are weighing up a sale, a gift, a retirement or a restructuring, or you simply want to know whether you are paying more tax than you need to, talk to us first. Book a free consultation at one of our four offices, and we will help you plan with confidence.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a tax advisor or will my accountant handle everything?

Routine compliance, filing your Form 11, CT1 or VAT returns, is part of our day-to-day accountancy work. Tax advice is different: it looks ahead at decisions like selling a business, gifting assets, restructuring or investing, where the right structure can make a substantial difference to what you pay. We bring both together so your compliance and your planning pull in the same direction.

Which taxes can you advise on?

We advise across the full range of Irish taxes, income tax, corporation tax, capital gains tax (CGT), capital acquisitions tax (CAT, which covers gift and inheritance tax), VAT including VAT on property, and stamp duty. We also handle Revenue audits and investigations, and we work with clients on succession, retirement relief and tax-based investment schemes such as the EIIS.

When is the best time to start tax planning?

Earlier than most people think. Many of the most valuable reliefs, retirement relief, business and agricultural relief, CAT thresholds, reward planning carried out over years, not weeks. If you are thinking about selling, retiring, passing on a business or making a significant gift, talking to us well in advance gives you the most options.

Where are your tax advisors based?

We have offices in Mullingar, Longford, Trim and Athlone, and we act for businesses and individuals throughout the Midlands and across Ireland. You can meet us at whichever office suits you, or talk things through by phone or video.
